$55,000 Females Tops LQHBA Fall Mixed Sale on Saturday
The sale enjoyed $556,450 in receipts for 147 head sold of the 191 offered (there were 30 outs). The average dipped from $4,190 last year to $3,785 in 2015, however the median price rose slightly from $2,000 to $2,100.
Jumonville Farms paid $55,000 for The Louisana Lassie, a 7-year-old daughter of Feature Mr Jess consigned by the partnership of Jumonville Farms and Burnett Ranch, LLC. Out of the G2 winner Louisana Eye Opener, The Louisiana Lassie sold in-foal to Corona Caliente.
Watson Land & Cattle Co. paid $55,000 for the yearling Shez The Bomb form the Live Oak Farms consignment. The Heza Fast Dash filly is a sister to RG1 placed Jess Good Looking SI 99 ($158,2439 to 4, 2015). The second dam is the multiple G1 winning This Snow Is Royal mare Morning Snow ($367,702).
Jess Tres, a half-sister to RG2 winner Jess Big Time SI 107 ($193,302) and G1 placed Jessazoom ($276,422) was the sales' third high-seller for $17,500. Timothy and Theresa Stephens purchased the 5-year-old mare in-foal to Tee Cos from the Blanchet Farms, LLC Agent consignment.
Jumonville Farms and Watson Land & Cattle were the sale's leading buyers with the one purchase each for $55,000. Alex Castaneda paid $49,500 for six purchases.
Jumonville Farms and Live Oak Farms were the two leading consignors and/or agents with one each for $55,000. Blanchet Farms, LLC Agent had 15 head gross $48,350.
Heza Fast Dash was the leading yearling sale sire (by average with two or more sold) with two head averaging $29,000. Agouti had two head average $7,850 and Struttin To Beduino saw two head average $7,000.
Tee Cos was the leading covering sire (by average with two more sold) selling four in-foal mares for an $8,925 average. Fast Prize Jordan had four in-foal mares average $6,775 and First Prize Doc had four head average $4,350.
