Everythingyouneed Clocks Fastest Time For LQHBA Sale Futurity At Delta Downs


Everythingyouneed, under champion jockey Ricky Ramiez, setting the fastest time from 12 trials races held at Delta Downs tonight for the the $525,420 LQHBA Sale Futurity(RG1).

VINTON, LA–AUGUST 12, 2022–Multiple stakes sire Jet Black Patriot dominated 12 trials for the $525,420 LQHBA Sale Futurity(RG1) Friday evening at Delta Down. The graded stakes sire got four finalists into tonight's rich final including the fastest two qualifiers.

The 10 fastest qualifiers will return to the Vinton, Louisiana racetrack on Saturday, September 3 to vie for the $236,439 winner's share of the purse going 350 yard.

Making his first start in the state of Louisiana this year, Everythingyouneed raced to a one-length win in ninth trial under champion jockey Ricky Ramirez to get the fastest qualifying time of :17.626 seconds.

Champion trainer Kenneth Roberts, Sr. saddled the $18,500 LQHBA Yearling Sale graduate to his third career win for owner Tony Sedillo.  Everythingyouneed has been racing exclusively in New Mexico this year where he qualified for the Grade 2 West Texas Futurity and the Four Corners Futurity.

Bred by Lester Colomb Jr., from the Oak Tree Special mare Rouge To Riches, Everythingyouneed has earned $28,022.

Flyingontheground was head winner over San Lorenzo Moon in the second trial to post the second fastest clocking of :17.732 seconds under jockey Juan Garcia, Jr. Also bred by Lester Colomb Jr., the Jet Black Patriot gelding was a $34,000 repurchase in the Kinder sale last August.

Trainer Juan Cano conditions the black 2-year-old for owner Double J Racing. The winner of two of five starts has banked $19,333 this year.

Fifth fastest Oh Heza Fast and 10th fastest Cool Ya Jets were Jet Black Patriot's other qualifiers.

Runner-up in the second trial San Lorenzo Moon, a $60,000 LQHBA Yearling Sale repurchase, held on to the third fastest clocking of :17.751 seconds for owner-breeder Rogelio Marquez, Jr. David Alvarez has the riding call for trainer Jesus Marquez.

The royally bred daughter of leading sire Apollitical Blood is out of the multiple RG1 winning daughter of leading sire Heza Fast Dash, Dashnunder Afullmoon. San Lorenzo Moon won the Louisiana Juvenile Stakes in her last start and has banked $103,918 this year. She was also second din the Lassie Futurity(RG2) in May.

Delta Downs will close out its race week on Saturday with an eight-race program that features the $25,000 Esplanade Stakes. First post time is set for 6:15 pm. (CDT).
