Featuring Fast Jess Prevails In $35,000 Develop A Plan Stakes

Featuring Mr Jess (#2) holds off Gunsmoke B (#7) and Dlj Imma B Famous (#3) to win the $35,000 Develop A Plan Stakes (RG3) at Delta Downs Saturday.

VINTON, LA—JULY 4, 2020—In his first start this season, graded stakes winner Featuring Fast Jess held off a late charge by Gunsmoke B to win the $35,000 Develop A Plan Stakes(RG3) by a nose Saturday night at Delta Downs. Dlj Imma B Famous was a head off the leaders in a blanket-finish to get third.

Ridden by jockey Noe Castaneda, Featuring Fast Jess completed the 350 yards in :17.398 seconds, equaling a 95 speed index. The $21,000 winners' purse boosted the son of leading sire Heza Fast Dash's earnings mark to $289,192.

Robi Meche saddled the 5-year-old gelding for owner Rancho FL, LLC. Bred by Jumonville Farms and Burnett Ranch Featuring Fast Jess is out of the Mr Jess Perry mare Featuringmissjess.

Defending Develop A Plan winner Gunsmoke B put in solid rally under jockey Antono Alberto to earn $7,000 for second. Jesus Marquez conditions the 7-year-old multiple stakes winning son of American Runaway for owner Rogelio Marquez, Jr. Bred by Bielau Oaks, from the Toast To Dash mare Dashing Pana, Gunsmoke B has earned $95,520.

Third-place finisher Dlj Imma B Famous races for owner Myron McKinnon and trainer Eduardo Morales. Donald Henderson bred the 7-year-old Coronas Leaving You gelding from the Strawflyin Buds mare Yugo Buds. A graded stakes winner, he picked up $3,850 to bring his earnings mark to $171,975.

Rf Fast Dash, Soft On Coronas, One Sweet Merlot, Fantasticazoom Jr and Psychopath completed the field.
