TQHA Sale Filly Tops Harrah's Entertainment Schooling Races

BOSSIER CITY, LA—FEBRUARY 7, 2020—Shes Racey, a $15,000 TQHA Yearling Sale graduate, posted the top mark on Friday from 34 two-year-old hopefuls who participated in six schooling races conducted at Louisiana Downs for juveniles who remain eligible to enter the Grade 3 Harrah's Futurity trials on next month.

Saddled by trainer Katie Carlos and ridden by jockey David Alvarez, Shes Racey completed the 220 yards in :12.245 seconds to easily win the second schooling race on Friday at Louisiana Downs.

Juan D. Garcia owns the daughter of world champion Stoli from the RG3-finalist Racey Winner by Shazoom. Bred in Texas by Jerry Windham, the sorrel filly is from the immediate family of black type winners Winners Version, Latest Version, Texas Version, etc.

Trainer Jose Sanchez III got his first of two winners on Friday in Race 3 when Heavy Pedal defeated Jess Dashin Down to record the second fastest clocking of :12.408 seconds.

Javier De Los Santos Muzquiz paid $22,000 for the daughter of leading sire Heza Fast Dash at the Heritage Place September Yearling Sale. Eddie Sanchez was riding.

Robicheaux Ranch, Inc., Agent consigned the gray filly out of the Mr Jess Perry mare Escalady. Bred by Ryan Robicheaux, Heavy Pedal is from the family of Grade 1 winner Chivalry Sr and stakes winner Serenity Dash. Former Broodmare of the Year Artesia by Timeto Thinkrich is the third dam.

Sanchez also saddled Sta Maria, another daughter of Heza Fast Dash, to victory in the opening race on Friday.

Runner-up in Race 3, Jess Dashin Down held on to post the third fastest time of :12.421 seconds for owner Sergio Sanchez and trainer Arturo Davila, III. Luciano Duenez had the riding call aboard the Down N Dash filly out Jess March by Mr Jess Perry.

The $8,500 TQHA Yearling Sale graduate is a sister to Sam Houston Futurity(G2) finalist Jess Dashing Along. Bred by Pete Scarmardo, Jess Dashin Down is from the family of champion First To Flash, Firecracker Futurity(G2) winner Big Dashing Perry and multiple stakes sire First To Shine.

The only other trainer with multiple winners on Friday's training card was Wendy Garcia. She saddled Chachalaka to victory in Race 4 and Charal Chrome to victory in Race 6 for owner Ramon Solis, Jr. Both 2-year-olds are by Phantom Menace and were ridden by Modesto Pina.

Both Garcia and Sanchez got five winner each a week ago today when Louisiana Downs hosted 13 schooling races for Mardi Grad Futurity(RG2) hopefuls.

Trials for the $75,000-added Harrah's Entertainment Futurity(G3) will be contested on March 1 and the $250,000-est. final will run back Wednesday, March 18.
