Trump My Record Sets Fastest Qualifying Time For $254,070 Harrah’s Entertainment Futurity (G3)

BOSSIER CITY, LA—MARCH 2, 2019—Harrah’s Louisiana Downs contested nine trials this afternoon for the $254,070 Harrah's Entertainment Futurity (G3).

Each of the entrants were maidens although several competed in training races held on February 8. There was no unfinished business for Trump My Record, who blazed to the wire of his 300-yard trial in :15.443 seconds under jockey Eddie Sanchez.

The son of leading first-crop sire Apollitical Blood out of the Pyc Paint Your Wagon mare Break N Records is trained by Arturo Davila III and owned by his brother-in-law, Cruz E. Nava. Purchased for just $10,700 at the TQHA Yearling Sale, he was impressive in his schooling race and returned in fine form today.

"He’s all business," said Davila. "Since the beginning, he’s been sound and very easy to train. My brother-in law had quite a bit of luck with Sheza Diamond Diva. We hope that this colt is on the same path."

Sanchez commented on the solid performance today of Trump My Record.

"He improved a lot from the schooling races," added Sanchez. "They always have something to learn in a schooling race, but he showed me more than I expected today!"

Apollitical Blood, who stands at Robicheaux Ranch, has sired qualifiers in both the Mardi Gras Futurity(RG2) and Harrah’s Entertainment Futurity(G3) this season.

Trump My Record is the second foal of the Pyc Paint Your Wagon mare Breck N Records, a half-sister to grade 1-placed Aha Moment and grade 3 placed Man Who Whouldbe King. The second dam is the Harrah's Entertainment Derby(G2) winner Thrill And Grace and the third dam is Remington Futurity winner Dela Crème Smash.

Davila and Sanchez also qualifier Baby Licous, a filly by FDD Dynasty who won the third trial in :15.6.20 seconds for owner Muzquiz Javier De Los Santos.

A $15,500 Heritage Place Yearling Sale graduate, Baby Licioius is the first foal of the Feature Mr Jess mare Da Licious. The second dam is Lubbock Stakes(G2) winner Da Edge, a Separatist daughter of the two-time champion Deelish by First Down Dash.

Last year, trainer Lanny Keith won the Harrah’s Entertainment Futurity with Going Noble a son of FDD Going Grand, bred and owned by Mercy Hinklin Horse Farm LLC. These connections will be a force in this year’s final with two contenders, who set the second and third-fastest qualifying times.

Tressels Going Grand, a gelded son of FDD Going Grand out the Tres Seis mare Tres Seis Diamonds, won her trial in :15.469 seconds. She was ridden by Everardo Rodriguez, who also piloted Seis Train B to victory in :15.514 seconds. Sired by Freighttrain B, he is out of Legendary Seis and is a half-brother to stakes horses A Noble Jess Elie and Valid Expectations. Keith was pleased that both overcame some trouble in their trials.

"Tressels Going Grand didn’t break as well today as he did in his schooling race," said Keith. "But he came running and finished well. It looked like he was watching the horse beside him at the break. We will do some gate works and get him a little more focused."

Seis Train B also had some trouble getting over the track, according to Keith.

"He slipped a few times and seemed to have some difficulty getting a hold of the track today," added Keith. "He and the other colt have room for improvement, but I was pleased that they both qualified."

Freighttrain B led all sires with three qualifiers today.

They will return on closing day of the 2019 Quarter Horse meet, Wednesday, March 20 with the winner earning $114,331.
