Da Pool Do Fastest Qualifier for the $41,649 Louisiana Downs Maiden Stake

Owned and trained by Jose D. Barron, the 3-year-old was bred by Cleaton M. Leger and was making his fifth career start. Breaking from the rail under Jose Rodriguez, the son of Pool out of the Royal Quick Dash mare Royal Winning Colors sprinted to the wire in :17.977 seconds. Sent off at odds of 16-1, Da Pool Do paid $35.60 for the maiden-breaking victory.

JlsTee Cos Jr finished a nose back to garner the second fastest time of :17.978 seconds.

Pina-Garcia Ranch and Gonzalez Racing own the 3-year-old son of Tee Cos from the Captain Courage mare Fastgirlshavemorefun. Juan Francisco Garcia, Jr. had the riding call for trainer Wendy Garcia. Jls -Speedhorse Ranch Inc. is the breeder.

Louisiana Downs Dates and Post Times

The 2018 Quarter Horse racing season at Harrah’s Louisiana Downs got underway on Saturday, January 6. The 46-day meet includes 12 stakes highlighted by the first official championship for 2-year-olds, the $100,000-added Mardi Gras Futurity on March 17. Live racing will take place Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday with a 1:00 p.m. (Central) post time and will continue through March 21.
