Coronas Leaving You Sires 1-2 Finishers In $50,000 Vinton Stakes

Zooboo (#8) gets up over Jrs Corona Shadow(#1) in the $50,000 Vinton Stakes at Delta Downs Saturday night.

VINTON, LA—MAY 20, 2017—Multiple stakes sire Coronas Leaving You sired 1-2 finishers in the $50,000 Vinton Stakes Saturday night at Delta Downs. Multiple stakes winner Zooboo rallied to get up at the wire by a head over Jrs Coronas Shadow in the Vinton Stakes. Toasted Runway was a head back to finish third in the blanket finish.

Trainer Martin Trejo saddled the winner for owner Rosalio Espinosa. Ridden by Cipriano VIdana, the brown gelding completed the 40 yards in :19.565 seconds, a 98 speed index into a 5 mph crosswind.

Bred by M&S Zingelmann and C. Crenwelge, Zooboo has compiled a (7) 3-1-2 record and pocketed $30,000 from the Vinton purse to bring his total to $93,125. He is out of the Dashin Bye mare Zoobilee.

Also by multiple stakes sire Coronas Leaving You, Jrs Coronas Shadow races for owner Gary Harstack and trainer Kenneth Roberts, Sr. Donald Watson rode the multiple stakes-placed gelding out of Shadow Of Colors by Dashing Val. He picked up $10,0000 for the effort to boost his earnings total to $63,963.

Trainer Michael Taylor conditions third-place finisher Toasted Runaway for owner Mary Ellen Hickman. John Hamilton rode the Sir Runaway Dash gelding out of Toast To Tolltac by Toast To Dash. Bred by J&B Rentals, Toasted Runway earned $5,500 for the effort.

Hez Kwick, One Hot Flame, Tf Race Runway, Dragon N Panther and Fired Up Perry completed the field.
