The Cazador Is Fastest Schooler For Colts and Geldings at Delta Friday


Delta Downs hosted 14 schooling races for fillies on Thursday night.

VINTON, LA—APRIL 7, 2017—The Cazador, a $4,500 LQHBA Yearling Sale repurchase, posted the top time from 63 state-bred two-year-old colts and geldings who participated in 11 schooling races at Delta Downs Friday night.

Trainer Michael Zingleman saddled the Sir Runaway Dash colt for owner Rayne Knight. Ridden by jockey John Hamilton the sorrel colt completed the 220 yards in :12.15 seconds. The Cazador is the second foal of the Toast To Dash mare Told Ya, dam of Lee Berwick Futurity(RG1) finalist Zihuatanejo.

Arnoldo Gallego' homebred Put Eye On The Blue posted the second fastest time of :12.16 seconds after winning the fourth race for trainer Martin Gallegos. Rodolfo Fierro rode the Jess Louisiana Blue colt out of La Hunica Maria by Mr Eye Opener.

Cold Brown Bottle, a $3,000 LQHBA Yearling repurchase for owner/breeder Henry Kennedy, Jr. won Race 3 in :12.21 seconds to record the third fastest time. Frank Cavazos saddled the Ragazzo half-brother to RG2 winner Dashin Gage. Cold Brown Bottle is out of Dash Lady Love, by Dash Thru Traffic.

Trainers Mike Taylor and Kenneth Roberts, Jr. had two winners each Friday night.

Sir Runaway Dash, Heza Fast Dash and Game Patriot were each represented by two winners each. Additional sires with winners on Friday's card were Fast Prize Jordan, Jet Black Patriot, and Mr Piloto.
