Jumpn Streak Draws Off In Streakin La Jolla Stakes

Ridden by jockey Francisco Raul Ramirez, Jr., Jumpn Streak broke well, extended his lead by two-lengths then cruised home in :19.668 seconds, a 101 speed index over the 400 yard course with a 15 mph tailwind.
Josue Ponce conditions the 4-year-old Jumpn Chic gelding for owner Ovidio Sandoval. Bred in Texas by Terrazas Family, the gray has compiled a (19) 4-5-5 record and used the $15,000 Streakin La Jolla winner's purse to boost his earnings to $97,342.
Jumpn Streak is out of Juana Streak, a daughter of the races namesake Streakin La Jolla. A son of Streakin Six, Streakin La Jolla entered stud in Louisiana in 1989. He sired 87 stakes winners, 2 champions and earners of more than $25 million. He was inducted in the AQHA Hall-of-Fame in 2012.
Kool Design was a game second under jockey Jorge Galvan. Willie Simien, Jr. saddled the First N Kool 5-year-old for owner Victor Galvan. Bred in Louisiana by Presley Broussard, Kool Design is a graded stakes winner of more than $165,000. Out of the Mitey Easy Dash mare Mitey Good Design, the chestnut earned $5,000 for his effort.
Pete Scarmardo's Running Game Patriot is trained by Dave Correll and ridden by Alfonso Lujan. S Bar S and Ryan Robicheaux bred the Game Patriot 4-year-old from the Eyesa Special mare Eyesa La Tac. The graded stakes-placed earner of nearly $80,000 picked up $2,750 today.
Pop Rocket Jess, The Golden Bowl, Rusty Bloom and The Lizzard King completed the field. Mda Game, Sir Prize and The Eagle Express were all scratched.
