Micmac Warrior Breaks Maiden—Sets Top LQHBA Sale Futurity Time


Micmac Warrior posted the fastest time for the $337,530 LQHBA Sale Futurity(RG1) at Fair Grounds Race Course on Saturday.

NEW ORLEANS, LA—AUGUST 15, 2015—Micmac Warrior broke his maiden Saturday with an impressive victory over one-length win over multiple graded stakes-placed The Renaissance Man to set the top qualifying time for the $337,530 LQHBA Sale Futurity(RG1) at Fair Grounds Race Course.

The 10 fastest Louisana-bred 2-year-olds, from the 10 trials races contested on the Fair Grounds Race Course 2015 Quarter Horse Meet opening day, will return to the Bayou city racetrack on Saturday, September 5th and vie for the winner' share of the purse worth $121,510.

Trey Ellis saddled the son of leading sire Heza Fast Dash for owners We All In Racing, LLC. Managed by Ryan Robicheaux, Micmac Warrior was a $22,000 LQHBA Yearling Sale Graduate last summer.

Making only his fourth start, jockey Alfonso Lujan guided the bay gelding to the top clocking of :17.724 seconds into a 6 mph headwind. Bred by Patton Farms from the Village Hero mare Sneaking N Dashing, Micmac Warrior's record stands at (4) 1-1-1 with $15,750 earned.

Telarosa got her second straight win following a neck victory over Rl Blue Picture in the third trial. The Jet Black Patriot filly races for Douglas Traylor and is conditioned by Kenneth Roberts, Sr.

Bred by James Magnon, Telarosa posted the second fastest time of :17.729 seconds after bobbling the start under jockey Lucas Constantin. She is out of the thoroughbred daughter of leading sire Hennessy, Presumptuous. Traylor paid $30,000 for the filly from the Robicheaux Ranch, Inc. Agent consignment.
