Jls Dashn And Zoomn Runs Streak To Six With Mardi Gras Derby Victory

JLS Dashn And Zoomin with Raul Ramirez, Jr. aboard, winning the $93,898 9th running of the Mardi Gras Derby at Louisiana Downs Saturday.

BOSSIER CITY, LA—MARCH 14, 2015—Multiple RG1 winner Jls Dashn And Zoomn ran his win streak to six, at Louisiana Downs Saturday afternoon, following an impressive 1˝ length romp over Zoomin For Bugs in the $93,898 Mardi Gras Derby. Game Hi was three-quarters back in the show position.

Ridden by regular rider Raul Ramirez, Jr., Jls Dashin And Zoomn urged ahead and drew off late under a hand ride to complete the 400 yard course in :19.520 seconds, a 106 speed index on the muddy sealed racetrack. Brenda Foster conditions the Sir Runaway Dash gelding for owner J and Y Racing.

Bred by Jls-Speed Horse Ranch, Inc. the sorrel, out of Shaken Thru Zoom by Shazoom, has won seven of 11 career starts and the $42,254 Mardi Gras winner's purse boosted his career total to nearly $530,000. He was also the winner of the $1 million LQHBA Breeders Futurity last November and won the Billy Montgomery Stakes at Louisiana Downs on January 17 of this year.

Joan Rood's Zoomin For Bugs earned $15,962 for his second place effort. Randy Hebert conditions the Zoomin For Bux gelding out of Toast To Bugs, by Toast To Dash. Jockey Armando Ramirez rode the graded stakes-placed 3-year-old earner of nearly $65,000. Dennis Miller is the breeder.

Game Hi earned her first official black-type with the third place effort for owner Alvaro Perez and trainer Martin Trejo. David Alvarez rode the Janelle Simon Louisiana-Bred filly by Game Patriot out of Jazzing Linda, by Jazzing Hi. She picked up $9,390 to bring her earnings mark to $42,510.

Dashacrossyourmind, Shes A Fast Dash, Dashin With Chrome, Fast Preacher Man, Swagger Jet, Diamonds Agouti and Wheres Mom completed the field.
