Sheza Gamer Gets Third Straight In Louisiana Downs Maiden Stakes

BOOSIER CITY, LA—FEBRUARY 7, 2015—Sheza Gamer, a 3-year-old racing for McGehee Horse and Cattle LLC, defeated fastest qualifier and post-time favorite Heza No Bay by a head Saturday afternoon to win the $31,450 Louisiana Downs Maiden Stakes at Louisiana Downs.

It was the third consecutive win for the Game Patriot filly. Shinning Corona finished half-a-length back in third.

Ridden by jockey Gilbert Ortiz, the Randy Hebert trainee completed the 350 yards in :17.681 seconds, a 95 speed index. The $14,153 winner's purse doubled her bankroll to $32,898. SKT Farms, Inc. bred the sorrel filly in Louisiana from the Strawfly Special mare Dealafly. Her record stands at (7) 3-1-1.

Heza No Bay earned $5,346 for owner Michael Richard. Kevin Broussard saddled the lightly raced Heza Fast Dash filly out of Reckless Renee by Reckless Dash. Bred by Connie Nobles, the sorrel miss earned $5,346 for her effort. Donald Watson had the riding call.

Jockey David Alvarez was aboard Shining Corona for owner's Donna and Kenneth Weeks. Kenneth conditions the First To Shine gelding out of Too Coronas, by Corona Cartel. Bred by Julie R Stevens, Jr., Shining Corona picked up $3,145 for his effort.

Sugarshaker B, Drinkin And Swingin, Miss Fine Jetpatriot, Miss Midnite Jet, Alexas Fast Dash, Jla Struttin Solo and Louisiana Bling completed the official order of finish.
