TQHA Sale Graduate Celebratingtheeagle Sets Fast Louisiana Downs Futurity Training Race Time


Celebratingtheeagle (#6) defeats Kas This Stoli Gl (#3) in Race 3 to set the fastest Louisiana Downs Futurity schooling race clocking on Friday.

BOSSIER CITY, LA–FEBRUARY 9, 2024–Celebratingtheeagle, a 2-year-old daughter of third-crop sire This Is An Eagle, defeated Kas This Stoli Gl in the fourth of nine schooling races for the Louisiana Downs Futurity(G2) today to set the fastest time from 53 open-bred juveniles who competed over a distance of 220 yards.

Jockey Edgar Marta guided the juvenile filly to a :12.090 clocking, the fastest of the day. Trainer Janessa Muniz saddled the $29,000 TQHA Yearling Sale graduate for owner Jesus Molina.

Debbie Eller bred Celebratingtheeagle in Texas from the stakes-placed Azoom mare Zoomin N Celebration, a half-sister to restricted Grade 1 TQHA Sale Futurity winner No Fees. This is the family of world champion Whistle Stop Cafe.

Kas This Stoli Gl, a Kas Tempting colt owned by Garza Laurel Partnership LLC, held on to the second fastest clocking of :12.120 seconds. Trainer Jose Sanchez named jockey Luis Vivanco to ride the Texas-bred colt out of Fear This Stoli by Stoli. Kas This Stoli Gl is a full sibling to the Old South Futurity runner-up Frankie Jr.

Trainer Guillermo Martinez send out Powerful Moment, a $28,000 Heritage Place Sale graduate, to easily win the Race 3 for owner TG Horse Racing LLC. The bay colt tied for the third fastest clocking of : 12.296.

Jockey Eddie Martinez had the call aboard the Capo de Capi colt out of Favorite Moment by Apollitical Jess. The third dam is the RG1-placed First Down Dash mare A Gals First Down.

Garza Laurel Partnership LLC got its second winner in Race 9 when Tempting Debut Gl also clocked :12.296, a tie for the third fastest. Trainer Jose Sanchez tapped jockey Luis Vivanco to ride the Tempting Dash colt out of the stakes winning Apollitical Jess mare Political Debut.  This is the family of champions Corona Chick and Corona Kool.

Sanchez and Vivanco were the leading trainer and jockey on the card with three winners. Tempting Dash and first-crops sire Chilitos sired a pair of winners each on the nine-race card.
