Flashy Dynasty Is Quickest In The Evd Open Graduation Trials

OPELOUSAS, LA—OCTOBER 7, 2023— The Saturday card at Evangeline Downs featured three trials for the EVD Open Graduation. 

The newest addition to the stake calendar is for 3 and 4-year-old runners that were maidens as of July 1.  The finals for the $25,000-added race are October 28.

The fastest qualifier for the Open Graduation was the Ray Robbins trainee Flashy Dynasty.  With a sharp start under jockey Arturo Alvarez, she was in command from the outset winning the first trial heat by three-quarters of a length over Apollitical Delight.  The running time for the 350-yard distance over a fast track was a snappy 17.704 seconds and earned a speed index of 89.

Owned by Darrell Williams, Flashy Dynasty wins for the first time in nine career starts in the trial.  With the $3,000 winner’s share, her bankroll now stands at $13,450.

Bred in Louisiana by the owner, Flashy Dynasty is a 3-year-old sorrel filly by FDD Dynasty and is out of the First Moonflash mare Higher Noon.

Racing resumes at Evangeline Downs on Wednesday with a 5:35pm first post.  The Quarter Horse season runs through December 16.
