Tf Heza Streaker Scores Breaks Maiden In The $50,000 LQHBA Sale Juvenile Stakes In Major Upset

VINTON, LA–SEPTEMBER 2, 2023–From a field of 10 Louisiana-bred colts and geldings, Tf Heza Streaker held on for his first career win defeating post-time favorite Cartel Roses Z by a head in the $50,000 LQHBA Sale Juvenile Stakes at Delta Downs on Saturday.

Jockey Leonard Rodriguez guided Tf Heza Streaker to victory in :17.794 seconds, clocking an 86 speed index. The son of One Dashing Eagle led the field from gate-to-wire for a major upset in the 350-yard stakes. The first place finish paid $34.40 to win.

From nine starts in his juvenile campaign, Tf Heza Streaker’s first win comes with a $30,000 paycheck increasing his lifetime earnings to $43,600. Trainer Guadalupe Garza, Jr saddled the sorrel gelding for owner Jose Rodriguez.

Tf Heza Streaker is a $6,500 LQHBA Yearling Sale graduate. Tate Farms and Tracy Smithwick bred the two-year-old gelding out of Streaking Duchess by Streakin La Jolla.

Heavy favorite Cartel Roses Z, piloted by Guadalupe Lucio, Jr. just missed the wire by a head for second, 1 1/4-lengths ahead of Dancingwithgrand. Trained by Guillermo Martinez, the son of Five Bar Cartel has lit the board five of six starts with four wins and $81,605 in the bank, including his Louisiana Juvenile Stakes victory last month.

Breeder Slash Z Land & Cattle sold Cartel Roses Z for $20,000 in last year’s LQHBA Yearlings Sale. Owned by Emmanuel Hernandez Padilla, the sorrel gelding is out of Yellow Rose B by First Down Dash.

Dancingwithgrand, with Juan Garcia, Jr. in the irons, held on for show. Trained by Dwayne Breaux, the son of FDD Going Grand has three career wins with $24,820 in the bank.

Breeder Grant Farms sold Dancingwithgrand to his current owner Jaime Cordons for $20,000 in the 2022 LQHBA Yearling Sale. He is out of Imdancinwiththestars by Furyofthewind. 

Round out the order of finish is Scoop Of Power, Say When Kr, Corona123, Tf Itsy Bitsy Jess, Heza Fast Blood, The Knockout Power and Mp Shining Dash.
