Apollitical Force Sets Fastest Time For LQHBA Sale Futurity At Delta Downs

Apollitical Force, under jockey Arturo Alvarez, setting the fastest time in the restricted Grade 1 $444,000 LQHBA Sale Futurity trials at Delta Downs Friday night.

VINTON, LA–AUGUST 11, 2023–Delta Downs conducted nine qualifying trials on Friday night to qualify 10 finalists for this year’s $448,771 Louisiana Quarter Horse Association Sale Futurity.

The fastest qualifier was Rolando E. Pizana’s Apollitical Force, who took the seventh trial of the night under jockey Arturo Alvarez.

Apollitical Force used a quick start and a fast turn of foot to win his trial for trainer Miguel Pizana in a time of 17.733 seconds for 350 yards. The clocking earned him a speed index of 87.

Apollitical Force’s resume coming into the Sale Futurity trials including qualifying for a pair of rich races earlier in the year. He finished a troubled seventh in the Mardi Gras Futurity at Louisiana Downs in March before winding up third in the Laddie Futurity at Delta Downs in May. Overall, he has now won three of six career starts and earned $61,201.

Bred in Louisiana by Tom Hill Selman, Apollitical Force is a 2-year-old sorrel gelding by multiple graded stakes sire Power Jam (TB) out of the Apollitical Jess mare Apollitical Scandal. The colt is an $8,000 LQHBA Yearling Sale graduate.
