Wire-To-Wire Victory For Rf Fast Dash N Jess In $40,000 Open Me A Corona Stakes

VINTON, LA–APRIL, 28 2023–Rf Fast Dash N Jess keeps his win streak after scoring his fourth consecutive victory Friday night at Delta Downs in the $40,000 Open Me A Corona Stakes.

With Arturo Alvarez controlling the reigns, Rf Fast Dash N Jess egressed from the gates in first and kept his lead to the wire for a 3/4-length victory over Tm Dee First Bar. The son of One Sweet Jess clocked a 94 speed index in :17.518 seconds and the 7/2 odd victory paid $11.20 to win.

Conditioned by Xavier Scott, Rf Fast Dash N Jess’ $24,000 winners check upped his lifetime earnings to $113,151. Even though this is his fifth career win, it’s the first stakes victory for the Louisiana-bred gelding.

Breeders Tim and Jennie Rogers of Rogers Farms in Louisiana sold Rf Fast Dash N Jess in the 2020 LQHBA Yearling Sale for $20,000. Currently owned by CB Racing Stables, he is out of the Heza Fast Dash stakes-placed mare Fast Dash N Deb.

Tm Dee First Bar, piloted by Juan Garcia, Jr., was a close second to Rf Fast Dash N Jess clocking a 90 speed index in :17.653 seconds. The son of Five Bar Cartel has six career wins with $88,030 in the bank, including the Winners Circle Church Stakes at Louisiana Down just last month.

Bred by Two The Max Investments, Tm Dee First Bar is out of stakes winner Call Her Dee by Deefirst. Trainer Fernando Valdez saddled the five-year-old gelding for owner Jose Rodriguez.

Coming in third by a longshot was Jjs Lace, ridden by Jorge Garcia, who’s 23/1 odds paid $23.20 to show. The son of Five Bar Cartel broke his maiden in 2022 and has $36,149 in lifetime earnings.

Breeder Jim And Jackie Berard sold Jjs Lace to his current owners Olvera Ranch Distributors, LLC for $12,000 in the 2020 LQHBA Yearling Sale. The four-year-old gelding is out of Lethal N Lace by Dash To Chivato.

Rounding out the order of finish is Attitudes Runaway, Rdd Empire Builder, Lrh Heart Of Glass, Dianetoseparatefromu, one Fast Perry and Five Bar Jess Cartel who was favored to win.
