Sheza Bye Bye Says Bye While Posting Fastest Distaff Training Race Time at Delta Downs Wednesday

Sheza Bye Bye, under jockey Eleazar Hernandez, records the fastest filly training time from 12 non-wagering schooling races for fillies at Delta Downs Wednesday night.

VINTON, LA–APRIL 12, 2023–Sheza Bye Bye posted the fastest training race time on Wednesday at Delta Downs when she clocked :12.14  seconds in the third of 12 schooling races conducted for 2-year-old fillies who remain eligible to any of the four futurities to run on the 2023 Delta stakes calendar.

Delta Downs live Quarter Horse meeting will kick off April 29  and run thru July 15.

Under jockey  Eleazar Hernandez Sheza Bye Bye took a quick lead from the start and widened over her foes to win the race by two-lengths. The daughter of the Tempting Dash stallion Hezadashinbye was the fastest from the 60 juveniles who participated.

Trainer Leonel Hernandez conditions the Louisiana homebred for owner-breeder Israel Flores. Sheza Bye Bye is the first Quarter Horse foal from the thoroughbred mare Madam Maggie by My Friend Max.

I Can Fly, a daughter of second-crop sire You Drive I Fly, posted the second fastest clocking of :12.21 seconds in the opening trial for owner Jeff Dearbonne and trainer Roy Roberts. Randy Edison had the riding call aboard the filly out of Lummis by Royal Quick Dash.

I Can Fly is a half-sister to restricted Grade 1 Lee Berwick Futurity finalist A Quick Jewel. This is the family of All American Futurity(G1) winner Ab What A Runner. Janelle Simon is the breeder.

Champion trainer Kenneth Roberts, Sr. led all trainers with three winners on Wednesday's training card. He saddled C C Girl in the 11th, Special Wild Trian B in the 5th and Billie Bad Azz in the 4th. Hector Sanchez and Paul Leal each saddled two winners.

You Drive I Fly and Freighttrain B sired two winners each.  Other stallions with schooling race winners Wednesday were Ajs Fast Dash, Carters Cartel, FDD Going Grand, Heza Fast Dash, Jess Louisiana Blue, Mr Piloto and Power Jam (TB).

On Thursday (April 13) 10 non-wagering 220-yard races for colts & geldings who remain eligible to one of the track’s 2023 futurities have been carded.
