Julies Lil Rogue Gets Feature Allowance Win At Louisiana Downs Thursday


A determined Julies Lil Rogue (#3) gets up over Heza Hunters Rogue (#2) and Bellas First Rogue (#1) in Wednesday's $11,000 feature allowance at Louisiana Downs.

BOSSIER CITY, LA–MARCH 28, 2023–Third times charm for Julies Lil Rogue on Thursday when she won the $11,000 feature allowance, for Louisiana Bred 3-year-olds and up which have never won two races, at Louisiana Downs.

The daughter of multiple stakes sire Heza Fast Rogue  kicked off her 2023 season with third-place finish in an LAD allowance on January 5 and was second in allowance at the track in her last start February 9.

Julies Lil Rogue broke out and bumped at the start under jockey Arturo Alvarez, but the determined filly defeated Hez Hunters Rogue by a neck while completing the 400 yards in :20.602 seconds, into a 10 mph headwind.

Trainer Noe Sanchez III conditions the 4-year-old filly for owner Karina Montano. Bred by Gerald Libersat, from the Leestown thoroughbred mare Ms Julie Pride, Julies Lil Rogue boosted her total earnings mark to $24,448 after pocketing the winner's purse of $6,600 today.

Hez Hunters Rogue, a 3-year-old son of Heza Fast Rogue, picked up $2,200 for his second-place effort. Trainer Benjamin Wilbanks named jockey Jose Rodriguez to ride the brown gelding for owner-breeder Jerr-Wood Ranch. Out of Rdd Swingin Reba, by Swingin Jess, has earned $15,360 in nine starts.

Bellas First Rogue made it a tri-fecta for his sire Heza Fast Rogue when he finished a neck back in third. Bradley Bolen saddled the 3-year-old gelding for owner Jose Rodriguez. Ubaldo Luna had the riding call aboard the gelding out of Eyesa Special by Special Bellalisa. Bred by Brock Broussard, he earned $1,210 for the effort.

Ridin High and Heza Righteous Man completed the field.
