Lett It Happen, One Sweet Rogue Square Off in Mr Jess Perry Stakes

BOSSIER CITY, LA–FEBRUARY 24, 2024–Eutimio Torres' Lett It Happen and Jennifer Walker's One Sweet Rogue lead a field of five state-bred sprinters entered in Wednesday's 350-yard, $30,000 Mr Jess Perry Stakes (R) at Louisiana Downs.

The 6-5 morning-line favorite, Lett It Happen will be making his 5-year-old season debut from the barn of trainer Gilberto Rosales. The Jet Black Patriot stallion will be shortening in distance off of his second-place finish, three-quarters of a length behind winner Mr Crawfish, in the December 16, 440-yard Louisiana Champions Day Classic Stakes (RG2) at Evangeline Downs.

Lett It Happen drew post 5 and will be ridden by Arnulfo Gutierrez.

One Sweet Rogue is a homebred 5-year-old Heza Fast Rogue mare trained by Robert Meche. One Sweet Rogue made her season debut with a second-place run, a half of a length behind winner LRH Heart Of Glass, in the 330-yard, $30,000 Billly Montgomery Stakes (R) for Louisiana-bred distaffers.

One Sweet Rogue drew post 3 and will be ridden by Everardo Rodriguez.
