Fifty-Two Sophomore Fillies Entered in Rainbow Oaks Trials

Graded stakes winners Cartel Kisses and One Perfect Lady are two of the 52 3-year-old fillies entered in Sunday's 440-yard Rainbow Oaks (G1) trials at Ruidoso Downs.

The 10 fastest qualifiers will meet in the $250,000 Rainbow Oaks final on July 15.

A daughter of Kiss My Hocks trained by Heath Taylor for owners Larry and Bobbie Rice, Cartel Kisses returns to Ruidoso Downs off of a Los Alamitos winter campaign during which she scored a nose victory in the 400-yard, $462,000 Los Alamitos Oaks (G1) on March 25. The filly has won nine of 12 starts and has earned $399,284, and her three wins in as many races at Ruidoso Downs include last year's 400-yard, $100,000 Rainbow Juvenile Invitational Stakes.

Cartel Kisses drew post 2 and will be ridden by Rodrigo Vallejo in the last of six trials.

One Perfect Lady races for La Feliz Montana Ranch LLC from the barn of trainer Xavier Rodriguez. A homebred daughter of the Corona Cartel stallion Bogart, the sorrel filly will be making her season debut off of a 2-year-old campaign during which she won the October 1, $426,000 Dash For Cash Futurity (G1) at Lone Star Park and was a finalist in Texas' richest horse race, the November 19, $1.209-million Texas Classic Futurity (G1).

One Perfect Lady drew post 7 and will be ridden by Francisco Calderon in the third heat.
