VINTON, LA–AUGUST 7, 2022–
A total of 109 state-bred 2-year-olds are entered in Friday's 350-yard $500,000-est. Louisiana QHBA Sale Futurity (RG1) trials at Delta Downs.

Post time for the first of 12 trials is set for 5:15 p.m. (CDT). The last heat is scheduled to go off at 9:50.

Btrain, a graded stakes winning daughter of Freighttrain B racing for Homero Hermilo Campa-Mireles, will be making her first start since May 27, when the filly scored a 1 1/2-length victory in the 330-yard, $311,000 Louisiana Breeders' Lassie Futurity (RG2) for state-bred fillies at Delta Downs. The filly was a $27,000 purchase at last year's LQHBA Yearling Sale.

Btrain drew post 7 and will be ridden by J.R. Ramirez for trainer Luis B. Ramirez in the third trial.

San Lorenzo Moon, a homebred Apollitical Blood filly trained by Jesus M. Marquez for owner Rogelio Marquez Jr., drew post 3 and will be ridden by David Alvarez in the second heat. The runner-up to Btrain in the Lassie Futurity, San Lorenzo Moon has earned $101,918 from four races, and he is coming off of a half-length win in the July 16, $70,000 Louisiana Juvenile Invitational Stakes (R) at Delta Downs.

Trainer Luis B. Ramirez will also send out Ruse Splash Train, a graded stakes placed Freighttrain B filly owned by Ruse Ranch LLC. Ruse Splash Train is coming off of a second-place finish, 1 1/2 lengths behind winner San Lorenzo Jet, in the 350-yard, $744,000 Lee Berwick Futurity (RG1) at Delta Downs on July 16.

Ruse Splash Train drew post 8 and will be ridden by J.R. Ramirez in the sixth trial.

The 10 fastest qualifiers will meet in the September 3, $250,000-added LQHBA Sale Futurity final.
