Fastest Qualifier Dakota Gurl Heads Sunday's Grade 3 Louisiana Downs Futurity


Fastest qualifier Dakota Gurl drew post 4 for Sunday's 300-yard, $324,288 Louisiana Downs Futurity (G3) at Louisiana Downs.

BOSSIER CITY, LA–MARCH 28, 2022–Dakota Gurl, a gray daughter of the Corona Cartel stallion Muddy Watters racing for Sunset Well Service Inc., drew post 4 for Sunday's 300-yard, $324,288 Louisiana Downs Futurity (G3) at Louisiana Downs.

Dakota Gurl made her debut with a three-quarter length victory in the first of 10 Louisiana Downs Futurity trials on March 13. Bryan Candanosa will ride the homebred filly for trainer Jorge Valenzuela.

SWS Twenty Three drew post 6 and will be ridden by David Alvarez for owners Sunset Well Service Inc. and Lance Moore.

A homebred Muddy Watters gelding trained by Dustin Rhodes, SWS Twenty Three made his career debut with a neck victory as the 9-10 favorite in the seventh Louisiana Downs Futurity trial.
