Stone Cold Leader Headlines Grade 2 Miss Polly Classic


Multiple stakes winner Stone Cold Leader is one of 10 sprinters entered in Monday’s 400-yard, 50,000 Miss Polly Classic Stakes (G2) at Delta Downs.

VINTON, LA—UNE 11, 2021—Patrick Richardson’s Stone Cold Leader, a 6-year-old son of the First Down Dash stallion Brookstone Bay, is one of 10 sprinters entered in Monday’s 400-yard, 50,000 Miss Polly Classic Stakes (G2) at Delta Downs.

Stone Cold Leader will be shortening in distance off of his second-place finish, a neck behind winner Black Cazador, in the 440-yard, $112,000 Sam Houston Classic Stakes (G2) at Sam Houston Race Park on May 28. The brown gelding has won 14 of 29 starts, including eight of nine at the 400-yard distance, and he has earned $557,793.

Stone Cold Leader drew post 2 and will be ridden by Rolando Pina for trainer Eric Long, who will also send out Wagons Dash. A 4-year-old Pyc Paint Your Wagon gelding owned by Edward H. Scott, Wagons Dash is coming off of of a second-place finish, a nose behind winner Black Cazador, in the 350-yard, $50,000 Sam Houston Stakes at Sam Houston Race Park on May 14.

Wagons Dash drew post 5 and will be ridden by Leonardo Rodriguez.
