Summer Sale Graduates Head Nine Schooling Races For Colts & Geldings at Delta Downs Friday

Delta Downs will host nine schooling races for 2-year-old colts and geldings, who remain eligible for the Laddie Futurity(RG2) or Old South Futurity, on Friday.

The 46-day Quarter Horse meet will get underway on Monday, May 10 and run through July 31. The Old South Futurity trials will be contested May 11th and the Lassie Futurity(RG2) trials are scheduled for May 21st.

First post on Friday is the set for 10:00 a.m. (CDT). All schooling races will contested at 220 yards.

In the first schooling race on Friday leading trainer Heath Taylor will send out Jess Chasin Chicks, a $52,000 LQHBA Sale graduate owned by Jerry Windham and Kenneth Grainger.

Jockey Noe Castaneda has been tapped to ride the son of multiple stakes sire Jess Louisiana Blue. Jess Chasin Chick is out Follies Corona Chick, a sister to leading sires Pyc Paint Your Wagon and Ivory James.

Trainer Jose Luis Sanchez III will saddled Del Quinto, a $75,000 LQHBA Yearling Sale repurchase in Race 7 for owner breeder Delfino Lozano, IV. The son of multiple stakes sire Five Bar Cartel is a half-brother to three black type including last year's Mardi Gras Futurity(RG2) winner El Camino Cl. Eddie Sanchez is expected to in the irons.

Del Quinto will face Bobby D. Cox's Moonin Senoritas, a $62,000 Heritage Place Yearling Sale graduate trained by champion trainer Kenneth Roberts, Sr. David Alvarez has been named aboard the colt by second-crop sire Moonin The Eagle.

Moonin Senoritas is a half-brother to multiple Oklahoma Derby winner Politicaly Correct and Harris County 550 Stakes winner Brookestone Grey.

Del Quinto will race from the four post with Mooin Senoritas on the outside in post five.
