OPELOUSAS, LA—NOVEMBER 15, 2020—Lifeinthefastlanes, a daughter of champion Jess Louisiana Blue campaigned by Jason Richards and Michael J. Leblanc, will put her win streak on the line in Saturday’s 400-yard Louisiana Breeders’ Derby (RG3) at Evangeline Downs.

Lifeinthefastlanes has won her last four starts, including the July 3, $50,000 Vinton Stakes (R) at Delta Downs, and the August 22, $277,000 Delta Downs Derby (RG2). The filly drew the rail post and will be ridden by David Alvarez for trainer Kenneth Roberts Sr. in the first of three trials.

The Egoizzta Partnership’s HH Gailforce is coming off of a neck victory in the 330-yard, $35,000 French Quarter Stakes (R) for Louisiana-bred fillies and mares on October 22. Joel Cantu trains the bay daughter of Freighttrain B, who has earned $229,747 from a dozen outs and won last year’s $305,000 Mardi Gras Futurity (RG2) at Louisiana Downs.

HH Gailforce drew post 3 and will be ridden by Luis F. Ruiz in the second heat.

A total of 30 state-bred 3-year-olds are entered in Saturday’s Louisiana Breeders’ Derby trials. The 10 fastest qualifiers will meet in the $100,000 final on December 19.
