Hes Innocent Headlines Evangeline’s De Saix Stakes


Firecracker Futurity(G2) winner Hes Innocentwill risk his perfect record in Friday’s 330-yard, $25,000 De Saix Stakes for 2-year-olds at Evangeline Downs.

OPELOUSAS, LA—SEPTEMBER 28, 2020—Hes Innocent, an undefeated son of Hes Relentless owned by Priscilla Rodriguez, will risk his perfect record in Friday’s 330-yard, $25,000 De Saix Stakes for 2-year-olds at Evangeline Downs.

Hes Innocent earned $196,208 from three races at Evangeline Downs last summer, and his three wins included a neck victory in the 350-yard, $371,000 Firecracker Futurity (G2) on August 15. A $22,000 purchase at last year’s Heritage Place Yearling Sale, the brown colt drew the rail post and will be ridden by Everardo Rodriguez for trainer Martin Trejo.

Guillermo Herrera’s D Cosmic Cartel drew post 9 and will be ridden by Juan Garcia for trainer Jose D. Barron. The black son of The Louisiana Cartel is coming off of a second-place finish, three-quarters of a length behind winner One Incredible Hock, in the 350-yard, $221,000 Texas QHA Sires’ Cup Futurity (RG3) at Retama Park on August 29.
