Fastdashing Lassie Headlines Billy Montgomery Stakes

Trained by Kenneth Roberts Sr., Fastdashing Lassie is coming off of a fourth-place finish, 1-¼ lengths behind winner Jess Adalida in the 330-yard, $25,000 French Quarter Stakes (R) at the Fair Grounds on September 7, Prior to that she was runner-up in the Audubon Stakes at Fair Grounds in August. The mare has earned $34,880 from five starts this season, all in Louisiana.
A lifetime earner of nearly $90,000, Fastdashing Lassie drew the 5 post and will be ridden by Donald Watson.
Another Heza Fast Dash filly, Rogue One (7-2) will start from the rail for trainer Martin Trejo. Everardo Rodriguez has been tapped to ride the filly owned by Rogue Equine LLC. The 3-year-old finished a neck off Fastdashing Lassie in her last start, the aforementioned Audubon Stakes on August 16. She has earned more than $82,929. The Billy Montgomery Stakes is restricted to state-bred fillies and mares who have not won a stakes race.
