Old South Futurity Trials, Louisiana Purchase Stakes Top Saturday Card at Delta Downs

VINTON, LA—APRIL 17, 2019—Ten state-bred aged sprinters have been entered in Saturday’s 350-yard, $40,000 Louisiana Purchase Stakes (R) at Delta Downs.
Armando Vasquez Rodriguez’s Fast Dashin Perry, a 3-year-old son of Ajs Fast Dash trained by Barbara Alcantara, drew post 4 and will be ridden by Rolando Cabrera. The runner-up to Heza Made Man in last year’s 400-yard, $40,000 LQHBA Million Juvenile Stakes (R) at Evangeline Downs, the gelding has won four of his 10 races and has earned $49,190.
The Louisiana Purchase Stakes is restricted to horses who have not won a stakes race. The complete lineup, in post position order including jockey assignments:

Also on Saturday, 74 juveniles have been entered in eight 330-yard Old South Futurity trials.
Pop The Bubbly, a maiden-special-weight winner during the Louisiana Downs winter meet, drew post 6 and will be ridden by Donell Blake in the first heat. Trained by Trey Ellis for owner Todd Matte, Pop The Bubbly is a bay son of Furyofthewind and the winning Dash Ta Fame mare Champagne Fame.
The 10 fastest qualifiers will meet in the May 11, $25,000-added Old South Futurity final.
