Delta Downs To Live Stream Training Races Wednesday and Thursday


Delta Downs will host 23 training races for 2-year-olds on Wednesday and Thursday.

VINTON, LA—APRIL 3, 2018—Patrons who cannot attend Delta Downs' training races on Wednesday and Thursday of this week will be able to watch via "live streaming" on the internet.

The two nights of non-pari-mutuel schooling races for American Quarter Horses will kick off at approximately 7:45 pm Central Time each evening.

Delta Downs will stream the schooling races live on its website, deltadownsracing.com.

The non-wagering races are designed to give non-starters a chance to run under the lights before the track kicks off its 2018 season, which runs from April 20 through July 7.

Featured during the schooling races will be horses paid up and eligible for this year’s $75,000-added Louisiana Lassie Futurity (RG2), the $75,000 Louisiana Laddie Futurity (RG2), and the $25,000 Old South Futurity.

A total of 77 2-year-old fillies will take part in 12 races on Wednesday night’s schooling race program, while 67 colts and geldings will be featured during 11 races on Thursday. Each of the schooling races will be contested at 220 yards.

Rogue One, a $100,000 LQHBA Yearling Sale graduate, will start in Race 8 on Wednesday. Trainer Martin Trejo will saddle the Heza Fast Dash daughter for owner Rouge Equine LLC. The filly is a sister or half-sister to 8 black type including LQHBA Derby winner Jet Black Rogue and Mardi Gras Derby winner Heza Fast Rogue. Everado Rodriguez is named to ride.

In the next race (9) Zoom By Me, a $64,000 LQHBA Sale Graduate, will start off the inside for owner Rogelio Marquez, Jr. and trainer Saul Ramirez, Jr. Eddie Sanchez will ride the Heza Fast Dash half-sister to RG1 winner Jessa Louisiana Zoom.

In the final race (12) on Wednesday trainer Kenneth Roberts Sr. will saddled EyeJessdashfast, a $110,000 daughter of Heza Fast Dash, for owner T M Ranch. David Alvarez will ride the full sister to multiple graded winner Heza Louisiana Dash. She is out of the Mr Jess Perry mare Eyejesslovelouisiana. This is the family of leading sire Jess Louisiana Blue.

LQHBA Yearling Sale second-high seller TF Runaway Feature will start in the 11th on Thursday for Runaway Racing LLC. Ned Goutierrez, III conditions the Sir Runaway Dash colt from the Feature Mr Jess mare Jls Featurethisdance. The gray colt is from the immediate family of Grade 3 winners JLS Party Wagon and JLS Streak Of Snow. This is the family of All American Futurity(G1) winner Mr Piloto.

Race 7 on Friday will feature Openup The Bar, a half-brother to AQHA Racing Champion and 16-time winner Open Me A Corona. Michael Taylor trains the $60,000 LQHBA Sale graduate for Show Me Da Money LLC. Antonio Alberto will ride the colt by first-crop sire Five Bar Cartel.

Swampi, another $60,000 LQHBA Sale graduate by first-crop sire Five Bar Cartel, will start from outside post in Race 10 Thursday night for owners S. M. Jones and C. Redddell. Also trained by Michael Taylor, the colt is out of the Game Patriot mare RMR Baby Doll, a half-sister to multiple stakes winner and stakes sire Fast Prize Jordan. Antonio Alberto has been named to ride.
