Jet Black Presence Returns in Billy Montgomery Stakes

Evangeline Downs will host the $30,000 Billy Montgomery Stakes (R) for state-breds on Saturday's card.

OPELOUSAS, LA—OCTOBER 18, 2017—Jet Black Presence, a multiple stakes placed 5-year-old daughter of Jet Black Patriot, is one of seven Louisiana-bred distaffers entered in Saturday’s 330-yard, $30,000 Billy Montgomery Stakes (R) at Evangeline Downs.

Trained by Kenneth Roberts Sr. for owner Charles J. Boudreaux Jr., Jet Black Presence will be shortening in distance off of her third-place finish, 1 1/2 lengths behind winner Shez The Bomb, in the 350-yard, $40,000 Audubon Stakes (R) at Fair Grounds Racecourse on August 19. The mare drew post 4 and will be ridden by Donald Watson.

The Billy Montgomery Stakes is restricted to state-bred fillies and mares who have not won a stakes race. The complete lineup, in post position order including jockey assignments:
