BOSSIER CITY, LA—JANUARY 18, 2017—Bankin On Bux, a graded stakes placed Zoomin For Bux gelding racing for Tommy E. Rhodes, is one of 45 state-breds entered in Saturday’s 350-yard Louisiana Downs Maiden Stakes trials at Louisiana Downs.

Trained by Vann Haywood, Bankin On Bux has earned $54,361 from five outs, and his resume includes a second-place finish, a half of a length behind winner Dragon N Panther, in last year’s 330-yard, $281,000 Louisiana Breeders’ Laddie Futurity (RG2) at Delta Downs.

Bankin On Bux drew the rail post and will be ridden by Damian Martinez in the last of five trials. His eight opponents in the fifth heat include Daniel Perez’s Im La Leaving, a brown daughter of Coronas Leaving You trained by Saul Ramirez Jr. Im La Leaving has banked $12,040 from six races, and she was a finalist in last year’s 330-yard, $298,000 Louisiana Breeders’ Lassie Futurity (RG2) for state-bred 2-year-old fillies at Delta Downs.

Im La Leaving drew post 6 and will be ridden by Alfonso Lujan.

The 10 fastest qualifiers will meet in the $15,000-added Louisiana Downs Maiden Stakes final on February 11.
