VINTON, LA—JUNE 4, 2015—A field of eight Louisiana-bred sprinters, including multiple stakes winner Open Me A Corona, has been entered in Saturday’s 400-yard, $60,000 Vals Fortune Stakes (R) at Delta Downs.
A 5-year-old son of Coronas Leaving You racing for Charles Forbes Jr. and Tommy Hays, Open Me A Corona has won both of his starts this season, both against state-bred stakes company. The stallion is coming off of a three-quarter length victory as the 2-1 favorite in the 350-yard, $50,000 John Alleman Memorial Stakes (RG3) at Delta on April 22.
Saul Ramirez Jr. has been named to ride Open Me A Corona for trainer Bobby Martinez.
