Shakeemdontbreakem Returns in Delta’s Mother’s Day Stakes

VINTON, LA—MAY 7, 2015—Irasema Torres’ Shakeemdontbreakem, a stakes winner during the Sam Houston Race Park meet, is one of eight distaffers entered in Saturday’s 350-yard, $25,000 Mother’s Day Stakes at Delta Downs.
A 5-year-old mare by the Corona Cartel stallion Contend trained by Jeff Chambers, Shakeemdontbreakem is coming off of a half-length victory in the 330-yard, $20,000 Miss Houston Stakes (R) for Texas-bred fillies and mares on April 3. The mare drew post 2 and will be ridden by Randy Edison.
Ana Lilia Alvidrez’s Scooter Prize, a 4-year-old daughter of First Prize Perry trained by Martin Trejo, will be ridden by David Alvarez from post 7. The mare won two of her three starts during the Louisiana Downs winter meet, both against stakes company.
