JLS Dashn And Zoomn to Make Sophomore Debut in Billy Montgomery Stakes


Graded stakes winner JLS Dashing And Zoomin will head Saturday's Billy Montgomery Stakes(R) at Louisiana Downs.

BOSSIER CITY, LA—JANUARY 12, 2015—A full field of 10 state-bred 3-year-olds, including graded stakes winner JLS Dashn And Zoomn, has been entered in Saturday’s 350-yard, $25,000 Billy Montgomery Stakes (R) at Louisiana Downs.

A son of the First Down Dash stallion Sir Runaway Dash, JLS Dashn And Zoomn races for J and Y Racing from the barn of trainer Brenda Foster. The gelding brings a three-race win streak into the Billy Montgomery that includes a half-length victory in the 400-yard, $1-million Louisiana Quarter Horse Breeders Association Futurity (RG1) at Evangeline Downs on November 29.

Raul Ramirez Jr. will ride JLS Dashn And Zoomn from post 5 on Saturday.

Other contenders include Joan Rood’s Zoomin For Bugs, a Zoomin For Bux gelding trained by Randy Hebert. Zoomin For Bugs is coming off of a third-place finish at odds of 30-1 in the 350-yard, $100,000 Louisiana Champions Day Juvenile Stakes (RG2) at Fair Grounds Racecourse on December 13.

Zoomin For Bugs drew post 9 and will be ridden by Gilbert Ortiz.

Hemps Jumpn Lajolla, a gelded son of Jumpn owned and trained by Miguel Rodriguez, drew post 7 and will be ridden by Randy Edison. Hemps Jumpn Lajolla is coming off of a 2-year-old campaign in which he ran second, a head behind winner Game, in the 350-yard, $646,000 Lee Berwick Louisiana-Bred Futurity (RG1) at Delta Downs.
