Nine Louisiana-Bred Distaffers Entered in Amelia Belle Stakes


Evangeline Downs will host the $30,000 Amelia Belle Stakes for state-bred fillies and mares on Friday.

OPELOUSAS, LA–OCTOBER 4, 2023-–Nine state-bred fillies and mares, led by early favorite Miss Pilotos Train, are entered in Friday's 350-yard, $30,000 Amelia Belle Stakes (R) at Evangeline Downs.

Trained by Ray Robbins for owner Mike Inscore, Miss Pilotos Train is a homebred sophomore daughter of the PYC Paint Your Wagon stallion BP Wagon Train. The filly is coming off of a Delta Downs summer campaign during which she ran third in two state-bred stakes, including the 330-yard, $60,000 Flashy Hemp Stakes (R) on July 15.

Miss Pilotos Train drew post 7 and will be ridden by Ricardo Hernandez Jr.
