VINTON, LA–APRIL 30, 2023–A total of 136 state-bred 2-year-old fillies, headed by graded stakes winner San Lorenzo Blood, are entered in this week's Louisiana Breeders' Lassie Futurity (RG2) trials at Delta Downs.

Sixteen 330-yard trials will be contested, eight on Wednesday and eight on Thursday. First post time each night is set for 6:15 p.m. (CDT).

A $70,000 purchase at last year's Louisiana QHBA Yearling Sale, San Lorenzo Blood is trained by Jesus M. Marquez for owner Rogelio Marquez Jr.

The undefeated daughter of champion Apollitical Blood has earned $167,886 from two races, and she will be stretching out in distance off of her clear 1 1/2-length victory in the March 25, 300-yard Mardi Gras Futurity (RG2) at Louisiana Downs.

San Lorenzo Blood drew post 8 and will be ridden by Rolando Cabrera in Wednesday's second trial.

Eyesa Just Pretty headlines Thursday's heats. A $13,000 buy at last year's LQHBA Yearling Sale and a daughter of champion Carters Cartel, the filly is coming off of a second-place finish as the 8-5 favorite in the Mardi Gras Futurity. Janessa Muniz trains Eyesa Just Pretty for owner Blackmon Quarter Horses LLC.

Eyesa Just Pretty drew post 3 and will be ridden by Eric Reyes in Thursday's seventh trial.

The five fastest qualifiers from each night of trials will meet in the May 26, $75,000-added Louisiana Breeders' Lassie Futurity final.
