Graded Winner Jla Indy Rogue Returns To Win Column in Louisiana Downs Feature Allowance


Jla Indy Rouge (#1) splashes to victory in a $14,000 Louisiana Downs feature allowance race Saturday over A Political Toast (#5) and Tttroyalityntheblood (#6).

BOSSIER CITY, LA–JANUARAY 28, 2023–Graded stakes winner Jla Indy Rogue returned to the winner's circle for the first time since winning the Evangeline Downs Futurity(G2) when she held off A Political Toast by a neck in a $14,000 Feature Allowance Saturday at Louisiana Downs.

Under jockey Juan Garcia, Jr. Jla Indy Rogue refused to lose while completing the 220 yards in :12.125 seconds over a sloppy (sealed) racetrack.  It was the Heza Fast Rogue filly's fifth career win and the $8,400 allowance winner's purse boosted her bankroll to $216,280.

Trainer Robert Meche sent out the winner for owners Karen Lynn McKinnon and Annette Faul.  Joanie Gore bred Jla Indy Rouge from the thoroughbred mare French Indy by Promissory.

Stakes winner A Political Toast earned $2,800 for his second-place effort. Xavier Scott trains the son of leading sire Apollitical Blood for owner CB Racing Stables. Arturo Alvarez rode the bay gelding in his 5-year-old debut.  Bred by Gene Cox, from the Toast To Dash mare Princess Toast, A Political Toast has earned $85,790.

Tttroyalityntheblood finished a nose back in the blanket-finish to earn $1,540 for third. Also a 5-year-old son of Apollitical Blood, Tttroyalityntheblood races for owner Ismael Ramirez and is trained by Jose Carrizales. Ricardo Hernandez, Jr. rode the stakes-placed gelding out of Royality N The Makin by This Snow Is Royal. Ernest Thompson bred the $60,050 earner.

Tf Runaway Kate and Tm Dee First Bar completed the field.
