Canselman Best In Marathon Stakes at Louisiana Downs Saturday

Ridden by jockey Cristian Esqueda, Canselman completed the 870 yards over a muddy (sealed) racetrack in :45.742 seconds, equaling a 98 speed index. It was the first career win for the son of Favorite Cartel and the $9,000 winner's purse boosted his bankroll to $34,015.
Trainer Alfredo Gomez conditions the 4-year-old for owner Q and S Racing. Bred in California by Steve D. Burns, DVM, Canselman is out of the Separatist mare Fall For It.
The 5-year-old mare, out of Stoli Victory by Stoli, entered the race off a three-win race streak that included the Faubourg St. John Stakes at the Fair Grounds last summer. She has earned $104,470.
Jesus Huitron Lira's Freakin Patriot Dash finished a half-length back to earn $1,650 for third. Pedro Lopez trains and Pedro Espinosa had the riding call aboard the 5-year-old son of Game Patriot out of Freakin Dash by Streak And Dash. He has earned $53,865.
Im Mighty Fast and Ms Dashing Queen completed the field.
