Dash For Cash Futurity Winner Inspyre Retired From Racing, To Stand At Cox Stallion Station In 2023

KAPLAN, LA–NOVEMBER 30, 2022–Inspyre SI 101, a Grade 2 winner and half-brother to world champion Whistle Stop Cafe, has been retired from racing and will begin his stallion career at Cox Stallion Station in Kaplan, Louisiana in 2023. His fee has been set at $3,000 with considerations.

"We’re excited to start Inspyre’s breeding career. He’s the total package of conformation, brains, and pedigree," Cox Stallion Station manager Jerome Bellard said this week. "With the success of world champion Whistle Stop Cafe and others from this immediate family, there is no doubt Inspyre is a sire to keep your eye on."

A homebred owned by AQHA Racing Champion Breeder Bobby D. Cox, Inspyre won or placed six of eight career starts and earned $218,220. He won the Dash For Cash Futurity(G2) and was a finalist in the Los Alamitos Super Derby(G1).

His sire Corona Cartel is a leading sire of money earners with 184 stakes winners, 10 champions and earnings of more than $66 million. Also known as a "sire of sires", his leading sons at stud include Pyc Paint Your Wagon, The Louisiana Cartel, Teller Cartel, Ivory James, etc.

Inspyre 's dam is the Grade 1-placed Mr Jess Perry mare Sinuous SI 99 ($105,956). She was runner-up in the Dash For Cash Derby(G2) and second in the third in the Heritage Place Derby(G1). She was also a finalist in the Grade 1 Texas Classic Derby and Grade 2 Remington Park Derby.

Sinuous is the dam of 17 ROM, 14 winners, 7 black type, 1 world champion including world champion, champion 2-year-old, champion 2-year-old filly and champion 3-year-old filly Whistle Stop Cafe SI 101 (9 wins in 10 starts, $2,222,840, All American Futurity-G1, etc.), Dash For Cash Futurity(G2) winner Inspyre SI 101 (see above), Sam Houston Derby(G3) winner SO Rapido SI 98 ($122,317), Grade 3 winner Marfilmio SI 103 ($97,444), stakes-placed Mansory SI 106 ($80,393), stakes-placed Canonball Run SI 101 ($66,907) and stakes-placed Bigtime Connoisseur Si 96 ($44,387).
