Stakes Winner Diane To Be A Hero Retired to Stud at Spring Hill Farms


Stakes winner Diane To Be A Hero will enter stud in 2023 at Spring Hill Farms in Kaplan, Louisiana.

KAPLAN, LA–OCTOBER 24, 2022–Diane To Be A Hero, a stakes winning son of champion sire Valiant Hero, has been retired and will take up stud duty for the 2023 breeding season at Spring Hill Farms in Kaplan.

His fee has been set at $1,250 but breeders can take advantage of early booking special of $750 if paid by February 3.

"Diane To Be A Hero is a sensational stallion prospect for Louisiana breeders," David Dunn owner of Spring Hill Farm said. "He's beautifully bred and very impressive physically. From the immediate family of  Freighttrain B he will be a great economical choice for breeders."

Bred by Eddie Crammer, Tom and Bill Maher and raced by Rogelio Marquez, Jr., Diane To Be A Hero won or placed in 11 of 16 career starts and earned $151,344. He won the Sam Houston Stakes, was second in the Evangeline Downs Derby, Heritage Place Juvenile and Delta Dash Stakes.

Diane To Be A Hero was also a finalist in the Dash for Cash Derby(G2), Sam Houston Classic S.(G2), Firecracker Derby(G3), and Develop A Plan S.(G3).

His sire Valiant Hero SI 105 won the Texas Classic Futurity(G1 and earned $668,633. From 12 crops to race he has sired 454 winners, 57 stakes winners, 3 champions and earners of more than $28.3 million.
