Champion Tarzanito to Robicheaux Ranch for 2020


AQHA Racing Champion Tarzanito will stand the 2020 season at Robicheaux Ranch near Breaux Bridge, Louisiana.

BREAUX BRIDGE, LA—SEPTEMBER 24, 2019—A1A Racing's Champion Tarzanito SI 102 will enter stud in 2020 upon his retirement from racing.

The 5-year-old son of leading sire Favorite Cartel, out of the Stoli mare Ancient Empress, will stand at Robicheaux Ranch in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana. His fee will be announced at a later date.

"We are excited for Tarzanito to start his career at Robicheaux Ranch," manager Ryan Robicheaux said Monday. "By 2019 leading sire, Favorite Cartel, Tarzanito, brings a unique outcross to Louisiana. Adding the Champion and Grade 1 winner to our stallion lineup could not have come at a better time, as Louisiana adds yet another $1 Million race for 2020."

Bred in California by Patricia Visscher, Tarzanito won or placed in 17 of 25 career starts, earning $408,407. He was named the AQHA Racing Champion Aged Stallion in 2018, following a season that included winning the Grade 1 Go Man Go Handicap and placing in the three other Grade 1 races at Los Alamitos Race Course, defeating the likes of AQHA Champions Hold Air Hostage, Zoomin For Spuds, and Heza Dash A Fire.

In addition he won the Sgt. Pepper Feature Handicap and was second in the Golden State Million Futurity(G1) and third in the Vessels Maturity(G1), Robert L. Boniface Los Alamitos Invitational Championship(G1), Spencer Childers California Breeders' Championship(RG1) and Cypress Handicap.

Tarzanito was also a finalist in the Grade 1 Los Alamitos Super Derby, Grade 1 Champion of Champions and Grade 1 Brad McKinzie Winter Championship.

His sire, Grade 1 winner Favorite Cartel SI 105, is currently the #2 Leading Sire of Money Earners in 2019 with over $4 million dollars to date. From only five crops to reach racing age the son of Thoroughbred racing's Horse of the Year Favorite Trick (TB) is the sire of 288 winners (60%), 99 stakes horses (21%), earners of more than $12 million with average earnings per starter of $25,850.

Tarzanito's dam is the champion producing Stoli mare Ancient Empress dam of 2 winners including Tarzanito (see above).

The second dam is the multiple Grade 1-finalist Streakin Millie SI 96 ($30,805), a Streakin Six sister to stakes winner Dashing Millie SI 92 ($83,702), and stakes-placed The Pharo SI 102 ($26,126). She is the dam of 11 winners including PCQHRA Breeders' Futurity(G1) winner Ancient Ruler SI 95 ($331,265) and the grandam of Grade 2 winner A Faster Streaker SI 105 ($173,522) and stakes winner Ronsepi SI 90 ($72,251), etc.
