AQHA Racing Champion Open Me A Corona to Delta Equine Center For 2017


AQHA Racing Champion Open Me A Corona arrived at Delta Equine Center on Wednesday.

VINTON, LA——DECEMBER 30, 2016—Delta Equine Center announced today that AQHA Racing Champion Open Me A Corona SI 106 will stand his first season at their establishment near Vinton, Louisiana in 2017. His fee has been set at $2,500 with considerataion.

Owned-and-raced by Charles Forbes, Jr. and Dr. Tommy Hays, the 2015 AQHA Racing Champion Aged Stallion won 16 of 21 career starts and earned $929,150.

Among his 12 career stakes wins are the $1 million LQHBA Breeders' Futurity(RG1), Louisiana Classic Stakes(RG2), Vals Fortune Stakes(RG2), John Alleman Memorial Stakes(RG3)-twice, Louisiana Champions Day Classic(RG2), Louisiana Classic Stakes(RG2), Gentilly Dash Stakes, Mr Jess Perry Stakes-twice, Opelousas Stakes and Lakeview Stakes. He was third in the Grade 2 Eastex Stakes and a finalist in the Delta Downs LA Bred Derby(RG2), LQHBA Laddie Futurity(RG2).

Open Me A Corona is by Firecracker Futurity(G2) winner Coronas Leaving You SI 103 ($278,358), a multiple stakes sire from five crops to race with earnings of nearly $6 million and average earnings per starter of more than $24,000. His top performers multiple stakes winner Scoopies Leaving You SI 109 (15 wins to 5, 2016, $283,737), Oklahoma Futurity(G2) winner Dash For Coronas SI 106 ($268,737), Louisiana Champions Day Derby(RG2) winner First Corona down SI 95 (4 wins to 3, 2016, $202,032), Sunland Park Winter Futurity(G2) winner Wasting No Corona SI 99 ($154,064), etc.
