Los Alamitos Super Derby(G1) Runner-up Highest Fire To Tate Farms For 2014

VILLE PLATTE, LA—DECEMBER 3, 2014—Highest Fire SI 93, runner-up in the recent $972,100 Los Alamitos Super Derby(G1), will begin his stallion career in 2015 at Tate Farms, near Ville Platte, Louisiana. His fee has been set at $2,500.

Owned by Alberto Valdes, Highest Fire won or placed in eight of 13 career starts while earning $323,687. He was second in the Grade 1 Los Alamitos Super Derby and a finalist in the Grade 1 Los Alamitos Two Million Futurity, Grade 1 Golden State Million Futurity and the First Down Dash Stakes at Ruidoso Downs.

He has competed against and defeated such racing stars as Champion Five Bar Cartel SI 91($1,068,825); four-time derby winner and #1 ranked older horse in America Moonist SI 99 ($459,918); Rainbow Futurity(G1) winner Ms First Prize Rose SI 101 ($546,985); Remington Park Futurity(RG3) winner Coronado Cartel SI 98 ($416,178); All American Futurity(G1) runner-up Reagal Eagle SI 105 ($$467,790), etc. A $77,000 Ruidoso Select Sale Yearling from the consignment of his breeder Julianna Hawn Holt, Highest Fire is by the leading living sire of money earners Corona Cartel. Corona Cartel has sired 819 winners, 282 stakes horses (24%) with earnings of $46. 8 million and AE per starter of nearly $40,000.

Highest Fire is the second foal of the two-time Champion Walk Thru Fire mare Higher Fire SI 93 ($1,314,742), winner of the Ed Burke Million Futurity(G1), Golden State Million Futurity(G1), second in the Los Alamitos Two Million Futurity(G1) and third in the Kindergarten Futurity(G1), Mildred N. Vessels Memorial Handicap(G1) and Jens L. List Jr. Memorial California Breeders' Stakes. She was also a finalist in the Los Alamitos Super Derby(G1).

From three foals of racing age, Higher Fire is the dam of 100% ROM winners including G1 placed Highest Fire (see above), multiple grade 1 finalist at 2, 2014 Corona The Cat SI 93 ($73,717, finalist in the Golden State Million Futurity(G1) and the Los Alamitos Two Million Futurity(G1) to run December 14), etc.

The second dam is the champion producing Raise A Secret mare Higher Math SI 90, a G1 finalist out of the Dash For Cash mare Add A Dash SI 90, who is a half-sister to stakes-placed Lightfooted SI 103 ($74,337), etc.
