Two-Time Ruidoso Stakes Winner Junior June Bug to Hebert Quarter Horses for 2015

WELSH, LA— NOVEMBER 14, 2014—Multiple stakes winner Junior June Bug has retired from racing and will stand the 2015 season at Herbert Quarter Horses, near Welsh, Louisiana. His 2015 fee has been set at $1,500.

Junior June Bug won or placed in 10 of 18 career starts while earning $288,878. He won the RG3 Zia Derby and Mountain Top Futurity at Ruidoso Downs and was second in the New Mexican Spring Futurity(RG2). He was also a finalist in the Zia Futurity(RG1).

Junior June Bug is by leading New Mexico sire Jess James Jr, a multiple stakes-winning son of leading sire Mr Jess Perry. From six crops to race, Jesse James Jr has sired 149 winners, 15 stakes winners, 22 stakes-placed with earnings of $6.2 million and average earnings of nearly $26,000 per head. Junior June Bug is the stallion's second biggest money earner.

The 4-year-old stallion is out of the unraced Blushing Bug mare Sandy June Bug who is also the dam of stakes winner Hedge Fund SI 98 (2 wins in 4 starts at 2, $51,454). The second dam is the RG1-placed Dash Ta Fame mare Sandys Dash SI 97 ($32,012), dam of 8 winners including RG2 winner Sandys Jesse SI 93 ($215,380), stakes-placed Lagaria SI 108 ($99,388) and stakes-placed Bridgette Bordeaux SI 95 ($42,544). She is also the granddam of Mountain Top Futurity winner Sammy James SI 93 ($150,223).

The third dam is the RG2 winner Dashin Sandy SI 107, by Streakin Dash, the dam of 17 ROM including RG1 winner Champagne Lane SI 105 ($147,125), who is the dam of champion Alice K White SI 99 ($276,837), G1 winner Kendall Jackson SI 114 ($409,244), etc.
