Late Nominations Due January 5 for 2021 Mardi Gras Futurity, Derby and Harrah's Stakes

Late nominations for three great 2021 stakes races at Louisiana Downs must be made on or before Tuesday, January 5.

ALEXANDRIA, LA—DECEMBER 14, 2020—Late nominations to the 2021 Mardi Gras Futurity(RG2), Mardi Gras Derby and the Harrah's Futurity(G3) can be made for $1,000 plus all nominations and payment fees to date on or before Tuesday, January 5.

A total of $1,700 ($300 nomination, $400 second payment and $1,000 late penalty) will make Louisiana-Bred foals of 2019 eligible for the $250,000-Guaranteed Mardi Gras Futurity(RG2). Trials for the 300 yard Mardi Gras Futurity will be contested March 6th and the final will run back on March 27th.

A total of $1,500 ($200 nomination, $300 second payment and $1,000 late penalty) will make Louisiana-Bred foals of 2018 eligible for the $100,000-estimated Mardi Gras Derby. Trials for the 400 yard Mardi Gras Derby will be contested March 7th and the final will run back on March 27th.

A total of $2,000 ($500 nomination, $500 second payment and $1,000 late penalty) will make any Quarter Horse foal of 2019 eligible for the $250,000-estimated Harrah's Open Futurity(G3). Trails for the 300 yard Harrah's Futurity will be contested March 13th and the final will run back on April 3rd.
