LQHBA Million Futurity Week Kicks Off

The $1 Million-Guaranteed LQHBA Louisiana Million Futurity(RG1) will anchor a huge night of racing and giveaways at Evangeline Downs Saturday.

Bios of the 10 fastest qualifiers from the November 20th trials at Evangeline Downs can found on the special "Million" coverage page by CLICKING HERE.

"Nine of the 10 finalists passed through the 2019 LQHBA Yearling or Mixed Sale which demonstrates the quality of yearlings LQHBA Breeders are bringing to market," LQHBA Executive Director Bruce Salard said. "With a $445,000 winner's purse plus a $111,250 going to the breeder of the winner it will make an exciting evening at Evangeline Downs."

Evangeline Downs will host four stakes races on "Million Futurity" night, Saturday, December 19th, with the $1 million Guaranteed LQHBA Million Futurity as the feature race.

Saturday's stakes races include:

• Scoopies Leaving You Stakes - Race 7, $30,000 Guaranteed
• LQHBA Louisiana Million Invitational - Race 8, $40,000 Guaranteed
• LQHBA Breeders Derby - Race 9, $276,825
• LQHBA Louisiana Million Futurity - Race 10, $1,000,000 Guaranteed

StallioneSearch's Greg Thompson and Freddy Carmona will travel to Opelousas later in the week and begin posting pre and post video coverage of the "Louisiana Million" in both English and Spanish beginning Thursday from Evangeline Downs.

Quarter Horse and Thoroughbred handicapper and racing publicist Martha Claussen will be on hand in Opelousas Saturday at Evangeline Downs for a handicapping preview show, co-hosted with Evangeline Downs Michael Chamberlain.
