Louisiana Downs Cancels Remainder of Live QH Race Meet, Gaming Control Board Closes States Casinos


The remainder of the Louisiana Downs Live Quarter Horse Meet has been canceled due to Coronavirus concerns.

BOSSIER CITY, LA—MARCH 16, 2020—Based on the changing circumstances and in the interest of public health, the Louisiana Gaming Control Board ordered the state's 20 casinos, including Harrah's Louisiana Downs, to suspend Gambling Operations for up to 30 days beginning at 12:00 AM on Tuesday, March 17, 2020.

Live Racing will also be suspended starting Tuesday for the remainder of the Quarter Horse meet (ending 3/18/20). The Grade 3 $283,210 Harrah's Entertainment Futurity scheduled to be contested on Wednesday has been canceled. Information regarding purse distribution for the futurity will be shared when an announcement comes from track officials.
