Funeral Services Set Monday For Longtime Horseman Teddy G. Abrams, Jr.


Funeral services are schedule Monday (Dec. 30) for longtime Texas horseman Teddy G. Abrams, Jr.



BRENHAM, TX—DECEMBER 27, 2019—Funeral services will be held Monday (Dec. 30) for longtime horseman Teddy Glenn Abrams, Jr., 50, who passed away Thursday (Dec. 26) in Houston, Texas.

Services, with Pastor Pat Dietrich officiating. will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brenham, Texas, where Teddy was a member. Visitation with the family will be 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main in Brenham.

Teddy was born September 19, 1969 to Teddy and Dorothy (Smith) Abrams. He worked and did an amazing job serving as vice-president of Abrams Technical Services. He enjoyed horses and loved his daughters he deeply.

Among the many racing Quarter Horses Teddy, Jr. was associated with was two-time AQHA Racing Champion Vals Fortune, winner of 20 of 23 career starts and earner of more than $1.1 million. Twice in his career he stung together 10-race win streaks that included such races as Louisiana QHBA Futurity(RG1 now the LQHBA Louisiana Million), Lee Berwick Futurity(RG1), Refrigerator Handicap(G1), MBNA American East Challenge(G2), Delta Downs Derby(RG2) and Mardi Gras Futurity (RG2) to name only a few.

Survivors include his parents, Teddy Abrams and Nancy of Hempstead, Texas; daughters Talia Gail Abrams and Tori Grace Abrams of Brenham; sister and brother-in-law Heather Abrams Raesz and husband, Clay of Taylor, Texas; grandmother Frances Abrams and aunt Sherry Abrams.

Teddy was preceded in death by his mother Dorthy Smith, and grandfather J.R. Abrams.
