Funeral Services Held Monday For Lifetime LQHBA Member Harold Lynn Soileau

Lifetime LQHBA member Harold Soileau died Saturday (Oct. 20). Funeral services were held Monday.

Services were conducted in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Prairie Ronde, Louisiana with the Mass. Rite of Committal following in the Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Harold, age 69, a resident of Port Barre, Louisiana passed away on Saturday at his home. He retired with the St. Landry Parish District 3 Fire Department of Opelousas. Harold owned and trained racehorses and was a horse farrier.

He is survived by his companion/caregiver, Wendy Thibodeaux of Port Barre; mother of his children, Ivy Dale Soileau of Church Point; son, Robbie Soileau (Jean) of Prairie Ronde; daughter, Nicole Robinson (Louie) of Madisonville, LA; grandchildren, Morgan Blanchet (Ethan) of Prairie Ronde, Trey Soileau of Prairie Ronde, Jackson and Jolie Robinson of Madisonville; one great-granddaughter, Raeleigh Blanchet of Prairie Ronde; his best friend over 60 years Wilson Thibodeaux (Bonnie); brother, Carl Soileau (Paula) of Prairie Ronde; sister, Madeline Deshotels (John) of Prairie Ronde; and sister-in-law, Pat Soileau.

Harold is preceded in death by his parents, Gerar Peter (GP) Soileau and Patricia Reed Soileau; brother, Dale Soileau; and nephew, Daniel Gay.

Wilson Thibodeaux, Robbie Soileau, Trey Soileau, Keith Soileau, Louie Robinson and Mike Fontenot. Honorary pallbearers will be Jackson Robinson, Ethan and Chris Blanchet, Freddie Carrier, Hal “Nap” Franchebois and Christopher Verrette served as pallbearers.

The family wishes to give a special thanks to Charlene Guidry and Donnie Tornblom of Louisiana Hospice and Palliative Care for their kindness and support.
